If you need CPR certification, one of the best training courses in Nevada is Las Vegas CPR. There are basic and advanced courses available, offered at the most affordable rates and available through the week. CPR is not commonly taken by laypersons (people who aren’t in healthcare) but as awareness of proper healthcare training is being raised all over the world, people from all walks of life have started enrolling in our programs.
Testimonial on training with Las Vegas CPR
When I first enrolled in a training program at Las Vegas CPR, I was honestly just looking for something to do while my kids and husband were at school. However, when me and my husband were at dinner and he suddenly collapsed after complaining of chest pain, I couldn’t be more thankful for my CPR training. I asked someone to call for help and started CPR immediately. He wasn’t breathing and he didn’t have a pulse and I panicked for the first two seconds before I remembered what I had learned. Enrolling in a CPR training class was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Whether or not you are required to take CPR training, the skills you learn from us will be some of the most useful you will ever have. You can help save someone’s life – it can your loved one or someone else’s. Did you know that 88 percent of cardiac arrests happen at home? This is means that for every five people who get a heart attack, four of them are someone’s spouse, child, or sibling. It is important that everybody gets training, not just healthcare providers.
Basic Life Support
There are two categories of training available at Las Vegas CPR, the first being Basic Life Support. BLS courses are very basic CPR courses that introduces CPR skills to students. We train our students three basic skills that they must always remember:
- Chest compressions
- Rescue breaths
- Automated external defibrillation (AED)
These three skills are always part of CPR rescue, especially the first two (for the first responders). If a defibrillator is available, remember that it is only used when the victim is experiencing arrhythmia. If the victim is experiencing asystole (flatline), defibrillation is never done – contrary to what the movies say.
There are three BLS programs available:
- Heartsaver CPR
- Heartsaver CPR C
- Basic Life Support for HCPs
Advanced Life Support
Advanced courses go beyond the three basic skills and first aid, focusing instead on medical management skills that can only be performed by healthcare professionals. This is why both ALS courses can only be enrolled by HCPs who have a BLS for HCPs training certification.
Our medical management for cardiac arrest training focuses on three important topics: medication, diagnostics, and supportive equipment. These are the three common management done in an organized healthcare facility, particularly hospitals.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (adult cases)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (pediatric cases)
