However, the online registration system is more simple with Lethbridge First Aid and the customer service hours are much longer (4 hours longer) with Lethbridge First Aid. This makes Lethbridge First Aid, a St Mark James Training provider, the provider with the easiest registration system.

First Aid
First aid programs teach students how to recognize and react to different emergency situations. The standard first aid program is 16 hours long in total, inclusive but not limited to the following topics:
- Wound care
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Automated external defibrillation (AED)
- Poisons
- Environmental emergencies
AEDs are machines that are attached to the chest with pads and supply the heart with needed shock. CPR-only classes have three different levels: A, C, and HCP, lasting 4, 5, and 6 hours respectively.
Instructors and private training
All of Lethbridge First Aid’s instructors are certified by St Mark James. They have hourly rates and schedules so you can book them for private training or special company training like workshops and conferences.
Certificates
To pass, a student is required to have the following:
- Complete attendance
- At least 75 percent on the written exam
- Good skill demonstration
Certificate cards are awarded to all students who are able to pass a class. Wall-mount sized certificates are available upon request. These are only valid for three years and can be renewed through recertification programs.
First aid recertification is approximately 8 hours long, held twice a week, inclusive of CPR level C, HCP or A recertification.

Severe allergic reactions: first aid
- As a rescuer, ask the victim if they have any medication such as an epinephrine pen you or they can use to manage the reaction.
- For automatic injectors (usually for epinephrine pens), press it against the thigh or a similar well-muscled area and press the button. Hold it for several seconds.
- Massage the site of injection for around ten seconds. This will enhance the absorption of the medication.
- Loosen any tight clothing.
- Cover victim with a blanket and help to a comfortable position.
- If the victim is unconscious, turn him or her to the side to prevent aspiration if he or she vomits or bleeds from the mouth.
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as necessary.
